@aaronpk Do you use VNC / Screen Sharing.app? You could try turning off screen sharing in the Sharing preference pane.
@manton She graduated in my class at Olin College. She has been nothing short of incredible through this entire situation.
@jean No, but I was pretty young and accustomed to first-person video games back then. The theater experience was incredibly immersive, and I felt lost the whole time. I didn’t have good guideposts for knowing how far along the plot was. Knowing what was coming the second time made the movie feel a lot shorter.
@jean The first trailer for Cloverfield (the one without a title) hit me really hard, especially with its depiction of young professionals just out of college taking cell phone photos of the Statue of Liberty head on the street. I simply had to go see it in the theater, and I loved it. Unfortunately, when I went to watch it a second time, it lost a bit of its appeal. That said, it's one of the most memorable movies I've ever seen. Also, 10 Cloverfield Lane is an incredible quasi-sequel. The Cloverfield Paradox, not so much.
@t Great idea!
I am always thinking back to "Cool URI's don't change" and the discussion around removing references to technologies used to serve up content.
In my opinion, it would be better to use /git/
or /code/
or something similar instead of GitHub, although I can see arguments either way.
@Nataliekayh Great news!
@toddgrotenhuis Another vote for iMovie. It starts pretty simple, and as you improve your skills are pretty transferable to more advanced software options later.
@Nataliekayh Congratulations!
@patrickrhone Agreed! Thanks for sharing.
@danielpunkass Congrats!
@help My Photos page appears to be blank. Any ideas what might be happening?
@manton I’ve been using Feedbin to subscribe to a handful of individual Twitter accounts in a similar way, now that I’ve trained myself to open NetNewsWire instead.
@Nataliekayh It’s not too crowded! Lots of room to social distance, even with a lot of people here. Reservations only, we were lucky to find a last minute spot open up.
@macgenie I was playing the Daily yesterday and made a mistake along the way. I hit “Recover Puzzle” and it erased back too far and even erased some of the pre-filled squares! I was worried about losing my streak until my wife showed me I could just fill in any numbers I wanted!
@odd you could add <wbr /> tags at strategic points within the URL to encourage wrapping. developer.mozilla.org/en-US/doc...
@help Are there any MarsEdit preview templates available for the various micro.blog themes? I'm using Marfa at the moment and would love to see my posts previewed accurately. If I try to use the "Download Template..." feature I end up with a preview template that shows me the "your post is not yet published" message.
@nertzy @help An update: I was able to get things working by temporarily disabling Cloudflare. I would just turn it off permanently, but there doesn't seem to be a way to disable Cloudflare for just one domain, unfortunately. I'm hoping the HTTPS certificate generation goes smoothly. If not, is there a way for me to upload my own certificate?
@nertzy One more thing... I think the problem I’m running into is that I’m using Cloudflare for my DNS. They are proxying requests through their caching layer, and thus they provide a public-facing A record that points to them. So even though they are eventually sending requests along to micro.blog, the outside world can’t see the (internal-facing) CNAME record they use within the proxy. So naturally, y’all can’t detect my DNS setup.
@help I am trying to migrate my WordPress site to micro.blog. I've successfully migrated my posts. I'm trying to point my custom domain to micro.blog and it keeps telling me I need to wait for DNS to propagate. I've already updated my DNS and now if I visit my blog, I get a "not found" message that I assume is coming from micro.blog servers. Is there anything I can do other than wait and try again?
Also, some feedback: It would be great if I could set my hostname even if the DNS hasn't propagated yet. That way, I can keep my previous site live and my site won't have downtime as various DNS servers update. There could also be some sort of UI element afterwards that lets me know whether the DNS propagation has succeeded.
@flowinho Requiring checking IDs. You can drop a pizza on the ground, knock a door, and walk away and it can still be a successful delivery.
@manton The strangest one I've found so far is that Tiff's Treats is delivering full Rudy's barbecue dinners.
@pratik I got it from here: www.postgresql.org/about/pre... Check out the final question.
@pratik I always say all three letters. Es Que El. Postgres Que El.
